About the Art Department
The art department at GCC is committed to excellence in education by providing a strong foundation in the visual arts. We are a community of practicing artists versed in the various traditions and media of art making. Our challenging studio courses are designed to equip our students with a critical body of knowledge and experience that will prepare them to transfer to some of the best four-year art programs across the country. We currently offer an Associate of Science Degree in Visual Arts, an Associate of Art Degree in Art, and a certificate in Digital Media.
We are a department engaged in critical discourse and seek new art faculty who will collaborate in the exchange of ideas, assist in the continuing growth of our artistic community, and help us meet the many needs of a moderately-sized art department.
